Depressive Black Metal from Austria, formed in 2013 as a two-man project.
In 2015 they released their first EP
“Feel free to lose your life” and their first full length studio album
entitled “Phrenesis” came out in 2018.
The sound of Lichtblick is atmospheric, dark and depressive, especially the mournful vocals are an
outstanding part of their music.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Favorite Track(s): Die Feuertaufe, Grabenlieder

Top of the top if it comes to contemporary Depressive Black Metal. One of very few albums giving me thrills. Her voice is amazing, drummer is great, melodies are pure insality.

While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended!
